The range of the collar extends out to three quarters of a mile however that distance will change depending on how the obstacles, hills and geography located in the area you are hunting or working in. The collar features an antenna that extends through the entire collar even poking out of the end allowing for an extended range that you most likely will never need to use for your dog but it’s nice to have Incase you ever do need to use it.

If your collar is blinking red you have less than fifty percent of battery. If your collar is blinking green then you have over fifty percent of battery.

Pull the transmitter away from the collar and the collar should be blinking. When you hold them together let the collar blink red twice. The collar turns on by holding the plastic piece that sticks out on the collar next to the white dot on the side of the transmitter. The transmitter only comes on when a button is pushed and when you let go of the button or the button times out then the transmitter turns off saving a ton of battery life.Ī magnetic system was built in to turn the system on. The designed set up makes the transmitter off all of the time.

How to turn the set on was my biggest question when first looking at the collar since there is no button or switch to turn the transmitter or collar on and off. This makes it a perfect collar for a new or beginner dog trainer.įirst off you need to know the transmitter takes one nine volt battery and the collar is charged by a charger that comes in the package. It has worked flawlessly so far and is very easy to understand and use. It is a relatively inexpensive collar and works great! This review is not to shame other collars because there are other collars that do very well.įor purposes related to hunting dogs and retrievers especially this e-collar meets my expectations. I have grown fond of the DT Systems R.A.P.T. Dog trainers have a wide variety of shock collars to pick from and it can be hectic and mind boggling trying to find the right one.
